Mile High Jumps was created out of a deep love and respect for jumping events. Founder Kelly Faulkner is a former Division I high jumper who has spent years studying the biomechanics, rhythm, and physics that make great jumpers successful — across every jump.

High jump is our bread and butter and the foundation the club was built on. But the principles that make a great high jumper — approach rhythm, penultimate mechanics, elastic strength, body control — are the same principles that make great long jumpers and triple jumpers. Mile High Jumps coaches all three.

Whether you're new to the event or chasing personal records, Mile High Jumps provides focused, high-quality coaching in a small group environment where every athlete receives individual attention.

Approach Rhythm & Curve Running
Developing consistent, efficient approaches that set up powerful takeoffs. The approach isn't prep — it's where the jump begins.

Takeoff Mechanics
Teaching athletes how to create vertical force through proper penultimate and plant positions. Where the jump is won or lost.

Elastic Strength & Ground Contact
Training the lower leg and foot to produce fast, reactive contacts. Speed through stiffness, not just muscle mass.

Body Control & Bar Clearance
Posture, rotation, and hip position over the bar. Clearance is a skill — and like all skills, it's coachable.

meet kelly faulkner

Kelly Faulkner is a former Division I high jumper and the founder of Mile High Jumps. She combines her background as a collegiate jumper with years of coaching experience and a deep passion for studying the biomechanics of every jumping event.

Her coaching approach blends technical expertise with a strong understanding of movement, force production, and athletic development. Kelly believes the jumps are among the most technical and fascinating events in track and field — and her mission is to help athletes unlock the details that let them jump higher, jump farther, move better, and compete with confidence.
