Meet Our Coaches

  • Hi, I’m Kelly Faulkner—founder of Mile High Jumps Training Center, Head High Jump Coach at Cherry Creek High School, and a lifelong advocate for athlete development and performance longevity.

I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and a USATF Level 1 Track & Field Coach with a High Jump–specific certification from Altis. My work bridges biomechanics, recovery, and performance—helping athletes move efficiently, build strength through proper mechanics, and develop explosive power safely and sustainably.

I earned my B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Physiology from the University of Washington, where I competed on a full athletic scholarship as a Division I Track & Field athlete and remain among the top three all-time high jumpers in school history. Before college, I was a two-time Washington State High School Champion in the high jump, an experience that sparked my lifelong passion for track and field and the pursuit of technical mastery.

Since graduating in 2012, I’ve completed 14 advanced certifications in sports massage, movement science, and performance training to continually evolve my approach. My mission is simple—to help athletes refine their technique, strengthen their foundation, and reach new heights both on and off the track.

  • A career teacher and coach, Lucas brings his expertise to the runway for our Long and Triple Jump athletes. As a third generation track coach, he’s been around high school athletics his entire life. After a short college football career, he started coaching football and track in Nebraska at Millard South High School from 2018 - 2021.

In his next 3 years at Burke High School, Lucas took several jumpers to the State Championship meet, including a Division Champion. Many of these athletes were first-time jumpers who had to learn the foundation before taking their skills to the next level. 2 of Lucas’s athletes became first-generation college students with track scholarships.

Today, Lucas coaches Long and Triple Jump at Cherry Creek High School where he also works as a teacher. He specializes in coaching the technical expertise of the horizontal jumps including approach consistency, takeoff mechanics, and landing efficiency. He emphasizes individual progressive skill development, video analysis for technique refinement, and event-specific drills designed to enhance explosive power and rhythm through the phases of the jump.

  • Doug brings a wealth of experience in athletic performance and sport-specific strength development to Mile High Jumps. He earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Valparaiso University, where he also competed as a five-year member of the football team.

Following his playing career, Doug began coaching at the University of Indianapolis before joining MSU Denver as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, where he designed and implemented comprehensive training programs for the entire Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams.

Most recently, Doug spent two years at Stanford University, serving as a Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Middle Distance and Distance programs, overseeing all aspects of strength and power development.

At Mile High Jumps, Doug leads the performance training division, designing season-specific, science-backed strength programs tailored for high jump, long jump, and triple jump athletes. His focus on movement efficiency, explosive power, and injury prevention helps jumpers of all levels build the foundation they need to perform at their peak.
